The Vouch Mid Vish 7'2 is a twin fin fish, the larger of two Mid Vish boards owned, that preferred a specific wave window and, in hindsight, could have used a touch more thickness.

What it is and why I bought it

I bought this Mid Vish stock in May 2021, a PU board with a medium rocker and soft-to-hard rails, running a bottom rolled into a double vee, into a mild four-concave vee, finished with a swallow tail in a twin fin setup. At 21 3/4 inches wide and 45 litres over 7'2, it followed the same fish family as the smaller 6'10 Mid Vish also in the register.

How it surfed

Its best wave came at Freshy, at a top speed of 28 km/h (about 17.4 mph) over a 168 metre ride, using a keel fin. It confirmed a clear preference for 2 to 5 ft conditions, and the register notes directly that it felt too thin and probably should have been ordered at 3 inches thick rather than the 2 3/4 it carried, a useful sizing lesson for anyone ordering a similar fish.

Who it suits and who it does not

A twin fin fish like this suits someone chasing that classic fish feel in small-to-medium surf, particularly a lighter rider who does not need the extra thickness the register flags as missing. It is a weaker fit for someone at the upper end of what this volume can carry, exactly the mismatch noted directly in its own log.

What happened to it

It sold on 30 October 2025 for $1,100, against a $1,750 purchase cost.

Questions people ask

What was the main issue with this Vouch Mid Vish?

Thickness. The register notes it felt too thin at 2 3/4 inches and probably should have been ordered at 3 inches for a better fit.

What conditions suited this board?

The logged range is 2 to 5 ft with 3 ft as the ideal.

How does this compare to the other Vouch Mid Vish?

This 7'2 runs more width and volume than the 6'10 version also in the register, though both share the same fish family design.
