Surfboard volume explained: what the liter number actually tells you

Volume, measured in liters, is the single best number for predicting how easily a board floats you and how easily it paddles, more useful than length alone. More volume means more paddle power and stability. Less volume means more responsiveness and a tighter turning radius, provided you have the fitness and skill to control it.
