What it is and why I bought it
I bought the Rock Up stock in April 2015, a board with a curved rocker and hard rails, running a single-to-double-concave bottom, finished with a rounded pin tail in a standard thruster setup. At 20 1/2 inches wide and 39.4 litres over 6'6, it was built as a dedicated good-wave board.
It came in a red and blue colourway.
How it surfed
Its best wave came at North Steyne, and the register's own verdict was clear: it lacked drive, and a DHD Sweet Spot was noted as far superior for the same 4 to 8 ft, ideal-at-5.5 conditions. That is a useful comparison for anyone weighing a straightforward thruster against a hybrid, five-slot alternative for bigger, better waves.
